GB on 1.7A Stainless Steel Braided Teflon Brake Hoses

I realised there is no exact fitting performance brake hoses for the 1.7A Edix on the market. All slightly too long or using cable tie to secure it in a less safety manner.

I have decided to go ahead in advance with the 5 sets of Edix 1.7A SSBH using Eaton Aeroquip Hoses from USA. I dont wanna compromise safety using excessive longer hoses from Taiwan and securing with cables ties and floating plastic brackets to secure my brake hoses anymore. Dont feel easy during my long journey to Ipoh.

Price is $230 with installation, adjustment of rear drum brakes and Super DOT4 Brake fluid flushing. $180 cash and carry.

Those keen to change their brake pads to Bendix Ultimate, I can ask the workshop to order in advance before the installation date. The Edix Specific stainless steel braided teflon brake hoses will arrive next week.

I will appreciate for those who wanna group buy to bank transfer me $50 as a form of deposit first. My bank account is UOB Savings 415-111-646-3. Those without UOB account can just drop cash into the Cash Deposit machine at any UOB Self Service Kiosk. Thanks.

3. Wklau - 1 Set with installation and brake service $230

I realised there is no exact fitting performance brake hoses for the 1.7A Edix on the market. All slightly too long or using cable tie to secure it in a less safety manner.

I am planning to send my original hoses to the manufacturer for measurements to have it made specially for our Edix 1.7A using Eaton Aeroquip Hoses from USA. But they need minimum 5 sets.

I wonder if any Edix owners here is keen in this upgrade? If cant get 5 persons by next Thursday 04Feb then I will just call it off.

$230 with installation, adjustment of rear drum brakes and Super DOT4 Brake fluid flushing.

Bigger rotor give more braking leverage at the expense of heavier rotating mass and heavier unsprung weight (aka heavier upsize rim effect). Unless its a 2pcs aluminium rotor hat design which is often costly. Thats why the manufacturers carefully selects the rotors size for different engine capacity and torque output so as not to upset the fuel economy. If you see drag cars, they always use the smallest brakes that is able to stop the car in time and if they cannot they deploy parachute to stop it instead of huge brakes.

Thats the reason why I choose to use a better friction compound pads(Bendix Ultimate) and forgo the rotor upsize.

Brake hose upgrade is of a different matter as it makes your brakes more responsive and direct feeling for better modulatng the brake force. The difference is best felt during harder and emergency braking.

I have just decided to go ahead in advance with the 5sets Group Buy tml. I dont wanna compromise safety using excessive longer hoses from Taiwan and securing with cables ties and floating plastic brackets to secure my brake hoses anymore. Dont feel easy during my long journey to Ipoh.

Those keen to change their brake pads to Bendix Ultimate I can ask the workshop to order in advance before the installation date. The Edix Specific stainless steel braided teflon brake hoses will arrive next week.

I will appreciate for those who wanna buy to bank transfer me $50 as a form of deposit first. My bank account is UOB Savings 415-111-646-3. Those without UOB account can just drop cash into the Cash Deposit machine at any UOB Self Service Kiosk. Thanks.

Re: GB on 1.7A Stainless Steel Braided Teflon Brake Hoses

Thanks for the photos, hope they did a neat job for you. However, try to pump the brake pedal with the engine off and see if it gets solid hard around mid point. Should not be spongy if done correctly.

I using Bendix Ultimate front pads as its the most value for money high performance pads I can find. The original pads just too soft and too low in friction and temperature rating. Do get it swapped out soon.

Your slotted rotors are nice but really needs a better pads to work together since a slotted rotor has less braking surface than a plain rotor.
